Mr. Robinson’s background is diverse. He lived and worked in China for 8 years in telecom and real estate, but since turning to environmental technologies in 2009, Mandarin Environment now maintains a network of environmental technology and cleantech relationships around China. John brings not only a high-level of China expertise, but also the analytical toolbox necessary to advise on business strategy.
Fluent in written and spoken Chinese, Mr. Robinson completed his graduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University SAIS program in Nanjing. The focus of his graduate studies was on the interplay between China's environmental and macro economic challenges. Chinese Bio here.
Mr. Ziyu Zhu is a Senior Consultant at Mandarin Environment. He mainly focuses on the communication and coordinating tasks between American/European clean tech companies and Chinese investors, organizations, governments and engineering companies. Mr. Zhu has a thorough understanding of clean tech in North America and Europe, especially wastewater treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, biosolids treatment and stormwater management. Thanks to his wide connections within Chinese market, Mr. Zhu is familiar with the challenges and the demands that Chinese players face.
Mr. Ziyu Zhu is experienced at evaluating international environmental tech in relation to their feasibility in the China market, and is able to provide practical marketing advice. Mr. Zhu works proficiently with cross-cultural communications and negotiation, which can effectively enhance the collaboration and development between international technology companies and Chinese partners.
Ziyu received his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Purdue University, and a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana & Champaign.
Ms. Jiang has a background in environmental technology in China, and now supports Mandarin Environment’s clients with China market research, partner identification, and other strategic undertakings. Thanks to her specialization in wasterwater-related technologies and her network of academic and engineering contacts around China, Ms. Jiang brings a strategic value to wastewater projects in China.
Ms. Jiang received a Masters of Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Additionally, in 2011 she received Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certification from the State of Wisconsin. She is a volunteer in the Chinese Environmental Scholars and Professionals Network (CESPN).
Steve Markscheid, Senior Consultant, is responsible for investment advisory engagements for Mandarin Environment clients.
Mr Markscheid is a senior executive and corporate director concentrated in mergers and acquisitions and other financial transactions, corporate governance, and consulting.
During his time with GE Capital (1998-2006), Steve led business development activity—primarily acquisitions and direct investments—in China and Asia Pacific. Prior to GE, Steve worked with the Boston Consulting Group throughout Asia. Steve was also a commercial banker for ten years in London, Chicago, New York, Hong Kong and Beijing with Chase Manhattan Bank and First National Bank of Chicago. He began his career with the US-China Business Council, in Washington D.C. and Beijing. Steve holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, where he was class valedictorian and member of Beta Gamma Sigma. He earned his master’s degree in international affairs at Johns Hopkins SAIS and his B.A. in East Asian studies at Princeton University. He is a trustee of Princeton-in-Asia. Besides his native English, Steve is fluent in Chinese and conversant in Japanese and French.
Jeremy is a seasoned expert in China's residential water business, with experience across nearly all technology segments and geographies. Mr Liu has built up several residential water technology brands, and is regarded as a go-to resource for residential water technology companies in China.

As a graduate of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Jeremy has a diverse resume consisting of sales and marketing positions in media, transportation, and water.
Jing Xia received her master's degree in environmental engineering at University of California Irvine with a focus on wastewater treatmenthttp://www.phl-china-alliance.com/, environmental monitoring and contaminated soil treatment. During her graduate study, she became more and more familiar with the water resource management, including watershed modeling, runoff simulation and open channel design. Also, she built several models relating to energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Hudson offers Mandarin Environment clients a track record of advising Chinese on U.S. investment opportunities and international companies on China strategy. Though Hudson targets companies across multiple industries, his main focus is water treatment technology companies due to the Chinese government’s mandate to address environmental problems and the immense issue impure water poses to many industries in China. In order to conduct top-notch evaluations of investments, Hudson utilizes advanced mathematical models to forecast asset returns and asset prices. In his advisory role, Hudson conducts very rigorous due diligence of acquisition targets and other entities. He also utilizes a strong network of confidants that he uses to confirm his findings. From the summer of 2013 to the summer of 2015, Hudson lived in Nanjing, China, working for Nanjing Sundy Investment Management LLC, where he managed the department for immigration-based M&A investments.
Heidi is responsible for overseeing Mandarin Environment's role in the China BluetTech Awards. Prior to Mandarin Environment, Heidi worked for Dow Chemical, the Philadelphia Water Department, and Shanghai Academy of Public Measurement. She graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering, and received her Masters in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
